Hillside Veterinary Hospital is dedicated to providing a friendly experience for you and your pet at every visit. We believe in getting to know your four-legged friends to establish trust, comfort and maintain a long-lasting relationship.
We welcome sick visits and treat illness, and disease cases. We can typically diagnose and treat most common illnesses such as GI upset, Diabetes, Endocrine Disorders, Arthritis, Allergies/Skin Disorders, etc. If there is a case that we aren’t capable of treating or diagnosing, we work closely with local specialists and referral hospitals so your pets can still get the care they need.
We are Proud to Provide the Following Services:
Surgery and Anesthetic Procedures
Performed Monday through Friday
Prior to any surgical or anesthetic procedures, our veterinarians will review your pet’s medical history and give your pet a thorough physical exam.
For all surgical procedures we recommend pre-surgical blood work similar to what you would receive prior to a surgical procedure.
Depending on the specific procedure being performed, our patients will receive a pre-surgical medication for pain, nausea and inflammation. All patients are carefully monitored during the procedure utilizing a Cardell monitor: ECG, O2 (Oxygenation), CO2 (Carbon Dioxide level), blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate. Finally, after surgery patients will receive any appropriate follow-up medications and care.
Routine and Preventive Care
Comprehensive Medical Exams & Vaccines
We understand pets can be intimidated when they visit any Veterinary Hospital, which is why we begin all of our examinations with getting to know your pet first to ensure they’re comfortable. It’s important that your pet receives regular check ups. Regular check ups can detect problems in their early stages, before they become more serious illnesses. Routine vaccines help keep your pet healthy by preventing infectious diseases. Our veterinarians can provide a recommendation on the vaccinations that best fit the particular needs of your pet.
Wellness, New Puppy & Kitten Care
Bringing home a new puppy or kitten is exciting! One of our friendly Veterinarians will perform a physical exam, recommend diagnostic testing, deworming treatments and vaccinations your new family member may need to help live a long, safe and happy life.

Diagnostic services are critical for any Veterinary Hospital to best determine the wellbeing of your pets. At Hillside Veterinary Hospital we have on-site laboratory equipment, including a new fully digital, low-dose xray machine, to carefully analyze your pet’s samples to better understand their health status. Our diagnostic services includes complete blood count machine, chemistry profile machine, x-rays, digital dental X-Rays, fecal testing, thyroid level and urinalysis. We also utilize many off-site commercial labs for specific testing that is not able to be done in-house.
Mobile Ultrasound Capabilities
Hillside Veterinary Hospital works closely with a mobile ultrasound consultant to offer ultrasound services to patients that need this service. Hillside Veterinary Hospital is able to schedule this service right at the Hillside location for your convenience. These images are then submitted to a Board Certified Radiologist, who provides a complete report as well as recommendations for your pet based on the findings.
Microchipping is an easy procedure that can permanently identify your pet. The microchip has a unique number. The number and your contact information are added to a national registry. Most veterinary hospitals and animals shelters maintain scanners to read the microchip and contact you should your pet ever become lost.
For Existing Patients with Chronic Illnesses
We understand the importance of your pet that has a chronic illness receiving their medication while you are away on vacation. We offer medical boarding in which we not only house your pet, but we will provide the necessary treatments while you are away. Take a look at our facility to see where your pet will be staying!
Acupuncture – the ancient Chinese art of inserting small needles into acupuncture points- can help pets too. Generally painless, acupuncture can be helpful for arthritis and some neurological problems. Acupuncture service includes an assessment of range of motion and painful areas. Acupuncture at Hillside is used as an adjunct to conventional therapy.
New acupuncture patients are requested to bring (or have faxed/emailed) all pertinent medical records, lab-work, and x-rays with them. Bringing treats from home is encouraged and can help assure that your pet enjoys the process!
