- Patrick Masters, DVM-
Dr. Masters grew up in rural Kansas and is a proud 1988 graduate of Kansas State University. He moved to West Virginia in 1992 and practiced locally until 1997, when he moved back west to Nebraska. In 2001 he relocated to the area again and was an Associate Veterinarian at Hillside Veterinary Hospital, until he purchased the hospital in 2015.
Dr. Masters is married to wife, Barb, a food inspection Veterinarian, and they have a daughter, Sydney, who is currently also studying at KSU. He has 4 dogs – Eloise, Louie, Belle, and Brutus; and 2 cats – Noelle, and Magic; and 3 horses – Annie, Lady, and Mac.
He particularly enjoys soft tissue Surgery; and his hobbies include woodwork, yardwork, and being outdoors.
- Janet Olcott, DVM-
Dr. Olcott completed her undergraduate degree at Mount Holyoke College, and then went on to obtain her Doctorate Degree from the University of Missouri in 1975. She grew up in the DC Metro area, but currently resides in beautiful Shepherdstown, WV. She and her husband, Mike, have 1 daughter, and MANY pets, which include….19 miniature horses, 2 goats, 1 cat, and 1 dog!
Dr. Olcott has been a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist since 1992, and also enjoys Geriatric and Internal Medicine. In her free time, Dr. Olcott drives miniature horses!
- Tara Trumler, DVM-
Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Trumler completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, before obtaining her Doctorate Degree from Kansas State University in 2001. She then went on to practice in Nebraska, Kentucky, and Ohio, before finding herself in WV in 2006. She and husband, Dan (a local equine surgeon), have 4 beautiful children, and a rescue Dachshund named Gretta.
Dr. Trumler particularly enjoys Dentistry, Ophthalmology, and Wellness Care.
- Virginia Yarrington, DVM-
Dr. Yarrington is a 2016 Virginia Tech graduate, and came to Hillside Veterinary Hospital shortly after. She originally grew up in the Northern Virginia area, where she still currently resides with her husband, James. They have 1 dog – Rita, and 1 cat – Echo.
She especially enjoys Surgery, and her hobbies include sewing and quilting.
- Crystal Lock, DVM-
Dr. Lock is a native of Pennsylvania, and completed her undergraduate degree at Penn State University, and then went on to complete her Doctorate degree at St. George’s University in Grenada in 2013, with her clinical year being completed at North Carolina State University.
She currently resides in PA with her husband, Noah, 2 dogs- Clementine and Scrappy, and 2 cats- Black Cat, and Pinky. She especially enjoys Internal and Preventive Medicine, and Dermatology. Her personal hobbies include cooking and photography.
